Pediatricians are specifically trained in the care of infants, children and adolescents. Pediatricians provide wellness checks and diagnosis and treatment for a range of childhood health problems. Childhood is the period of greatest growth, development and maturation of the various organ systems in the body. Issues revolving around infectious diseases and immunizations are also dealt with primarily by pediatricians.
