Event Information

March 3rd is National Wear Blue Day for Colon Cancer Awareness
Are you 50 or older? Ask
your doctor about colon screenings.
Among
cancers that affect both men and women, colorectal cancer (cancer of the colon or rectum) is
the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States. Every year, about 140,000
Americans are diagnosed with colorectal cancer, and more than 50,000 people die
from it. But this disease is highly preventable, by getting screened
beginning at age 50.
Still, up to 40% of Americans aged older than 50
years are not being screened! There are 3 different tests to screen for colorectal cancer, ask your doctor today if you are 50 or older.
