Dr. Carlisle serves as the UM Medical Director, which oversees the consultation and coordination with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans. She previously served as Regional Medical Director at two major health plans.

Dr. Carlisle serves as Vice President of the Association of Black Women Physicians,dedicated to improving the health and wellness concerns of traditionally under-served communities and assisting in eliminating health disparities. She has traveled to Central America for medical missions in the last seven years and visits local senior homes on a weekly basis.

Dr. Carlisle likes to spend her free time learning the endangered language Louisiana Creole, reading fiction through book clubs and meeting her 10,000 daily steps by walking her two pugs, Langston Hughes and Josephine Barker.
