When your doctor (Primary Care Physician) decides you should see a specialist, you shouldn't have to wait for additional authorization. That's why PacifiCare offers Express Referrals through Beaver Medical Group. Your Primary Care Physician will decide when you or a member of your family should see a specialist - no further authorization is required from a medical committee.

Beaver Medical Group works closely with your HMO to help you receive quality health care coverage. In addition, Beaver Medical Group has demonstrated a commitment to preventive care and wellness programs, and can help you get the most from your health plan.

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS

1. Choose Your Primary Care Physician
   To ensure you can access Express Referrals, choose your Primary Care Physician at Beaver Medical Group

2. See Your Primary Care Physician
   Your Primary Care Physician works closely with you, knows your medical history, and will be best qualified to decide when you need to see a specialist. Your Primary Care Physician may then give you a referral to a specialist at Beaver Medical Group in any of the categories listed below.

   If your Primary Care Physician determines you need a specialist and the service is a covered benefit, he or she will make an appropriate referral. Each referral will outline the number of specialist visits that are approved and other necessary special instructions.

3. Make an Appointment with the Specialist
   Once your Primary Care Physician has given you a referral to a specialist, simply make your appointment for a consultation - you may even get to see the specialist the same day.
