Redlands, California... Beaver Medical Group was rated #1 in patient satisfaction in a survey done by Pacific Business Group on Health, a consortium composed of 33 large employer groups (i.e. Chevron, Bank America, Safeway, Stanford University). The study, done in the hope that employers and consumers will use the information to help select doctors during open-enrollment meetings, was one of the first attempts to compile a health care report card on physician groups. While Southern California medical groups, as a whole, rated slightly lower than Northern California, Beaver Medical Group was rated highest in Overall Satisfaction. The study, which surveyed 50,000 members of managed care plans in 49 medical groups, also rated Beaver Medical Group above average in the categories of Quality of Care, Ease of Getting Care and Referrals, and Doctors' Communication Skills. Those of us that work at Beaver Medical Group have always been proud of the quality of our physicians. Physician groups' participation in the study was voluntary and involved only the larger medical groups in California. The state's HMOs have been the subject of numerous customer satisfaction surveys over the years and this is one of the first attempts by a group of employers to rate physician groups.
