Beaver Medical Group - Who We Are

Excerpted in part from Once Upon A Yesterday,
by Dick West, Valley Messenger, 1995

It wasn't until 1945 that the Beaver Medical Clinic came into existence under that name. The original members, in addition to Dr. Beaver, were Espey F. Cannon, Joseph Hayhurst and Gordon Witter. Later that first year, Ralph M. Weaver and Hal T. Wilson joined the clinic. The years that followed brought many more physicians, including some who remain familiar names to this day.

In 1969 Dr. Beaver joined the world of retirement. During his career, he served as chief of staff at Redlands Community Hospital and on the County hospital board of directors. He also served as president of the County Medical Society. Dr. Meredith Beaver left this life on January 11, 1987, at the age of 87. Most certainly he has left an indelible mark in our town.

It is unlikely that Dr. Beaver ever envisioned the Beaver Medical Clinic of today. As most are aware, the clinic not only has dramatically expanded its original site at Cajon and Fern, but has grown to include facilities in Highland, Colton, Yucaipa, and Banning. There are presently over 100 physicians on the medical staff, representing 25 medical specialties. Dr. Beaver would also be proud to know that in 1994 Beaver Medical Group earned full accreditation from The Medical Quality Commission, an achievement shared by only a few select medical groups.

Beaver Medical Group has been taking care of our community for over 50 years, and we most certainly should remember how it all began.
