Pacificare just released its biannual Quality Index rating of all the largest medical groups in California. In the index, Pacificare members rated Beaver Medical Group as the best medical group in the entire State of California with an overall score of 99 out of 100.
The Quality Index measures clinical and service areas including: Cervical Cancer Screening, Breast Cancer Screening, Optimal Outpatient Care, Drug Treatment for Asthma, and Satisfaction with Medical Group, Primary Care Physician, and Referrals. Beaver received a "best practice rating" in 6 of the 13 categories including patient satisfaction with their medical group.
Several hundred medical groups throughout the State of California were published in the study - only those with an average of at least 1000 Pacificare members were included. Not long ago, Beaver Medical Group was also rated #1 for patient satisfaction by an independent group, the Pacific Business Group on Health.
